How To Make Your Own Matcha Oats:
Well well well. Matcha is trendy AF and actually pretty good for you, even before it was the trend (I feel like it might be the new avocado) to consume, I loved the consistency and taste. I'm so happy there are so many restaurants, cafes, and recipes using Matcha.
I did my research and realized that the world of over night oats isn't as hard as it sounds. It's quite easy and you'll instantly feel this void in your life because of how easy, fast and delicious they are to make. I went on a small binge of making them for a week straight, just adding different ingredients. Takes a literal 5 minutes.
Things you'll need:
- 1/2 Cup of Rolled Oats - can find these probably at any grocery store, but I got mine from good ole' Trader Joes.
- 1 Matcha packet - yes these exist. And I put them in my water bottle when I'm going through Matcha withdrawals (Trader Joe's FTW once again).
- 3/4 Cup of milk. I dig almond or soy. But any kind will do.
- 1 Banana
- 1 Spoon of Flaxseed
- 1 Spoon of Honey
- A dash or two of Cinnamon
Yes that is it! I made mine in a little mason jar but any Tupperware will do. Best thing to do is get your bowl, Tupperware, or jar and mash the banana first in the container using a fork. Then add the rest of the ingredients in the container. Put the lid on and shake that thang. Please excuse my Italian roots showing by measuring with terms like "spoon" or "dash" but that is how I was raised! Make sure to put in the refrigerator over night...duh!
